Play rugby. You never know who you might meet!
K-2 Intro to Rugby
The main focus at this age is to be safe and HAVE FUN! While our youngest players do not typically compete against other teams, they begin to learn skills early.
This includes ball handling, evasion, playing as a team, but most importantly, having fun.
All of our players are involved in games, relays, and stay active and engaged.
Grades 3-6 Flag Rugby
There are two age brackets for our flag rugby team: 3rd and 4th grade, and 5th and 6th grade. We often train these groups together.
At this age, our players focus more on the laws of the game for flag rugby and begin to play against other teams across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In these brackets we start to see true teamwork and rugby skills developing early as they build on the skills learned in our kindergarten - 2nd grade squad.
Grades 7-12 Contact Rugby
We introduce contact rugby to our middle school players. Our high school rugby players play full contact with contested scrums. We take a methodical and thorough approach in introducing the skills needed to tackle and be tackled safely.
Middle school and high school rugby players compete against teams throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. There is an impressive level of rugby that we experience across all of our opponents at this age level. While we strive to play competitive rugby every time we take the pitch, our primary goal remains safety, and ensuring our players enjoy the game.
